Most often you may end up buying incorrect pair of shoes that may not only burn your wallet but also hurt your feet. Using such inappropriate shoes will increase your foot problems and cause foot ailments. Such foot problems can be prevented from happening by wearing the right pair of shoes. The foot wear may vary depending on the activity, foot type and body type.

Learning about the various arch profiles is the first step to buying foot wear. Foot arches are categorized into 3 types namely normal, flat and high. You can identify your foot type by observing your foot prints thoroughly. A foot print that shows a half arch is often a normal arch. Almost all types of shoes fit well for a normal arched foot. Arched foot is also considered to be flexible and balanced. Stability shoes would work great if a person with normal arched foot performs more physical activities like running and walking. Otherwise, a moderate cushion shoe would be ideal for a normal arch.

A foot print that shows the foot ball and heel is termed as high arch. The set back of high arch foot is that it does not absorbs shock. A cushion shoe would be the best fit for high arch as it would help in shock absorption.

How to identify high arch shoes? If the footprint shows just the ball and heel of the foot; it is referred to as a high arch shoe. A cushion shoe would be the great choice for this type of arch as a high arch does not adequately absorb shock and a cushion shoe would aid in the restoration of natural inward pronation.

If you have skinny ankles, then you got to buy only those delicate shoes with right heels or pointed shoes.Bulky or chunky shoes should be avoided for skinny ankles because they may look over sized on skinny ankles. However, if you have a thicker ankles, then a bolder shoe would help in balancing the width of ankle. Those footwear with heels and ankle straps should not be worn on thicker ankles.

While buying boots, it is important to figure out whether the upper part of boots fits the calf of the leg. It is ideal to buy those boots that pair well with the shape of your legs. If you have a fuller body, then you can balance the look by wearing a thick heeled boot. Also, avoid wearing ankle straps because it may make your legs to appear shorter. In fact, you can try mules and thongs if you have medium to short legs. Also, make sure that the shoes that you buy do not prick you as it may be devastating to your feet.

While shopping walking shoes, make sure the front portion of the shoes are flexible and bend easily. Try wearing those shoes and test whether you are able to move your toes freely. Figure out whether the heel is properly cupped inside the shoe. This way the shoe will offer adequate cushioning and stability. Also, find out whether the heels are supported well. You can do it by leaning your heels on the shoes and assessing its support. It is always wiser to buy those shoes with thick tongue as it may help in protecting your feet from the friction that is caused due to laces. If you want to secure the Achilles tendon while running, it is important to buy a shoe with a padding on the ankle collar.
