By Kenzo Ramsey

The Jilbab has gradually become a symbol of strong assertion of an Islamic identity for women in the Muslim community globally. Accordingly significantly has been discussed and debated concerning this clothing from it being a symbol of oppression subjugating them to will of a male dominated world view right down to restricting participation of ladies in society.

Since, it's a much debated topic in the media the question that arrives to mind, what is the Jilbab? This requires a whole article to only answer that for that reason here is a very short try to answer the question. The Jilbab is a long cloak clothes according to the verses of the Holy Qur'an verse (333: 59) instructed to Muslim women. It is symbol of modesty, Islamic status and a defensive measure against unwarranted sexual advances by promoting self respect, dignity and honour for women.

Hijab ban in France, Turkey and Tunisia are just a few examples that come to mind. This has not hindered the determination of Muslim girl to come out more resilient. Only a simple search of Jilbab on Google will display results showing that lady in the Muslim community have many creativity in inventing very chic and elegant models of Jilbab.

They have answered all the critics by coming out with fashionable patterns of Jilbab range from sportswear, casual wear, smart and elegant Jilbab patterns. The latest introduction to this range has been a burkini which is a swimwear dress for female to wear in swimming pools and beaches. The evidence is clear to suggest that Jilbab is not a hindrance but required a creative approach to re-style it to suit the needs of the Muslim lady of today. This allows the girl to fulfil the moral Islamic obligations also as might seem comfortable that she is not betraying the girl religion to play a positive role in society.

The various range of Hijabs are designed to cater for that need for her to be a mother, wife, employee, business woman or have time to follow leisurely pursuits for the wellbeing of the girl health.
