Are You Sexy and Confident Enough to Wear A Cleopatra Costume?

By Lynn Robinson

Are you thinking of wearing a Cleopatra costume this Halloween? This year I definitely plan to dress up as Cleopatra, the top Egyptian symbol of beauty, femininity and mystique. Even though her features were nowhere near perfect, her aura and charisma won many hearts over including those of Marc Antony and Caesar.

For confident women in particular, a Cleopatra costume is the perfect Halloween outfit for the holidays because it allows you to be both sexy and flirty without anyone judging you otherwise. A typical Cleopatra costume could be created by using any old white sheet you have which could be tied in Egyptian Toga style. If that is not possible, then a simple white gown could be altered by adding a slit at the side.

A Cleopatra costume is the perfect outfit for the holiday of Halloween because it allows you to be sexy and flirty without anyone judging you. A Classic Cleopatra costume could be created by using any White sheet which could be tied in Egyptian Toga style. If that is not possible a simple white gown could be altered with a slit at the side.

And if you want other color choices for your gown, no problem. How about gold, yellow, burnt orange or even black? A golden, metallic, wide belt at the center of the dress would easily tie everything together and complete the look. In fact, if a belt is not available a golden or silver piece of fabric, or even a piece of fancy rope fabric could be tied around the waist as a sash. And why not use a sheer fabric for your cape to accentuate the sensuality of your costume?

And don't forget things like armbands and bracelets too. You can easily create armbands to add to your Cleopatra outfit. And don't forget the headpiece. It can easily be made with dangling chains to highlight the dramatic appearance of the hair and by adding a pair of Gladiator style footwear, and Voila, the perfect Cleopatra costume.

And if you're looking for accessories and other cheap jewelry for your own Cleopatra costume don't forget your local thrift stores and dollar stores - they have plenty of beads and charms. I'll bet even your children's jewelry might work, depending on what your kids have in their collection of costume jewelry. Just remember, the focus point of the jewelry should be large metallic pieces - elaborate and larger than life is what you want - just like Cleopatra herself.

Accessories and jewelery for the Cleopatra costume can either be bought from a thrift store or fashioned out of colored foil and other materials like beads, charms etc - even your children's jewelry might work, depending on what your daughter has in her collection of costume jewelry. The focus point of the jewellery should be a large metallic neckpiece which should be elaborate and larger than life - just like Cleopatra.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, hair and makeup are essential parts of any Cleopatra costume. Her poker straight, shoulder length black hair with sharp bangs are iconic. This look can either be created using your own hair if possible or by wearing a Cleopatra wig - your choice.
