The Most Fun and Thoughtful Proposal Tips

By Henrietta Baw

Marriage proposals made over a romantic dinner at an elegant restaurant can be very romantic but they are not necessarily creative. Many women dream about the day that the man of their dreams proposes to them and hope that the day will be absolutely perfect in every way imaginable.

As opposed to taking her out to a fancy restaurant, why not propose over a lovely home cooked dinner you have painstakingly prepared yourself. No woman can resist a man who can cook, and she will appreciate your hard work preparing the meal and planning the whole evening. Proposing over a home cooked meal also allows you to be more playful with where you put the wedding ring. Use your imagination and be creative, you'll be amazed with what you can come up with. Popular places to conceal the ring are in a glass of wine or champagne or hidden in the dessert. Your fiance will be delighted and surprised when she finds a diamond engagement ring in her glass of champange or adorning the top of her dessert pastry.

If you both are experienced equestrians, why not rent a couple of horses and go on a long ride together to a remote romantic location that is special to both of you. This can be something like a lake out in the country or a picturesque meadow where you can pause for a quick picnic and pop the question. She is sure to be overcome with emotion at such a grand romantic gesture.

If you're not the outdoors type but instead prefer going to clubs and other entertainment venues, consider arranging for a singer or musician at her favorite place to propose to her on your behalf. A jazz club or a piano bar is great for this sort of thing, provided you carefully arrange and choreograph everything in advance. For a change of pace, try proposing through a magic show. You can arrange for the magician to pick your fiancee to come on stage as a participant in a magic trick and then have him surprise her by pulling out your engagement ring out of a hat instead of the expected rabbit or white doves.

If your bride to be is a traditional family girl and will not appreciate grand romantic gestures or cheesy nightclub proposals, then why not arrange to ask for her hand in marriage with her parents and family nearby. She will be overcome with emotion as you share this once in a lifetime moment with her family and loved ones.
