When man grasped how crucial time is to life, we became infatuated with it like it has become a mistress. When we find out that we are getting late for a plane or would like to know when we are in a day, the basic impulse is to twist our wrist and check what time it is. It is this constant checking of time that people would now want to look at their preoccupied wrist with something beautiful attached to it.

Luxury watches are like expensive exotic cars. They symbolize how rich the person is and how much they have progressed in their life and career. It reveals the kind of style the wearer has. It is basically a symbol of status. However, watches are not only fancy and expensive jewelry but also functional pieces of equipment and wearing one show how important time and punctuality is to the wearer. Many wealthy people seek out for them while those who has to tighten their belts then they would just gawk and drool over them.

Luxury watches are always being associated to one country and that is Switzerland. They are not just famous for the Alps but they are the world's number one exporter of watches. In fact, 650 watchmakers are located here and this little country produces half of the world's total production of watches. They are so serious about this craft that they have very strict laws in just using the name Swiss on any brand. And two of the well known watches from this country are Tag watches and Omega watches.

Tag watches (shortened for Tag Heuer) are best known to create watches that are very precise and have very good quality of work. They have the perfect blend of sophistication and sportiness among all the known luxury brands. Tag Heuer was also the first company to ever make the first automatic chronograph in history, a standard among many watch makers.

Omega watches on the other hand are known for being part of history and world famous events. The watch that Neil Armstrong brought to the moon was an Omega watch. It is also the official timekeeper in the Olympics and the official watch of James Bond since 1995. This famous Swiss brand is so well known that according to Omega, 7 out of 10 people have heard of Omega watches. Truly, from the depths of the oceans all the way to space, Omega watches are proving themselves to be innovators among luxury watch brands.
